Admission Process for Pune colleges 2011: The Road Ahead for 11 Standard Admissions in Pune


Key instructions:
* Students should confirm their allotted seat on priority
* Students wanting to wait till the waitlist allotments are out by foregoing their original allotted seat will be doing so at their own risk
* Only photocopies of support documents, like marklist, to be submitted along with the admission form
* Grievances on excess charging of fees should be referred to the deputy director of education through CAP's main centre at Fergusson college


Admission programme:
* July 26 to 28: Candidates to confirm their seat at the allotted junior college

* July 28, 5 pm: Release of first waiting list

* July 29 and 30: Waitlisted candidates to report to their allotted college for confirmation of admission

* July 30, 5 pm: Release of second waiting list (if needed)

* August 1 and 2: Confirmation of admission at allotted college by candidates under second wait list. Process to be carried out between 10.30 am and 4 pm every day

* August 3: Stream-wise, medium-wise review of vacancy at the end of Std XI CAP at 11 am at Fergusson College's amphitheatre

* August 4 to 6: Counselling-based table round admissions for Std X fail students, who applied admission to Std XI under the allowed-to-keep-term (ATKT) scheme, at Fergusson College

* August 8: Standard XI classes to commence at 160 junior colleges in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad.


CAP at a glance:
* Number of junior colleges: 160

* Availability of seats all streams including bifocal: 63,680

* Applications received: 54,898 (inclusive of 2,117 pleas under ATKT scheme)

* Total seats allotted under CAP Round I: 46,545

* Number of boys: 24,721 (53.11% of total allotment in Round I)

* Number of girls: 21,824 (46.88% of total allotment in Round I)

* Backward Class students: 18,666 (40.10% of total allotment in Round I)

* Science stream allotment: 22,671

* Commerce stream allotment (English+Marathi medium): 21,634

* Arts stream allotment (English+Marathi medium): 2,240


Preferences:
* 27.69% of total applicants for science stream got the college of their first choice while 51.08% students got a seat in one of the first three preferences they made

* In commerce English medium, 36.65% of total applicants got the college of their first choice while the same for commerce Marathi medium was 49.76%.

* 38.66% of total applicants in arts stream got the college of their first choice while the same for arts Marathi medium was 88.38%


ATKT admission schedule:
* July 30: Provisional merit list to be declared at 11 am at four designated colleges -- Fergusson, Nowrosjee Wadia, Sir Parsurambhau (SP colleges and Mhalsakant Mahavidyalaya, Akurdi

* August 1: Redressal of grievances, if any, relating to the provisional list at the four designated colleges, from 11 am to 4 pm

* August 3: Final merit list to be displayed at 4 pm at the four designated colleges

* August 4 to 6: Counselling-based table round admissions at Fergusson college recreation hall, from 9 am to 5 pm

* ATKT provisional as well as final merit list will also be posted on two websites: www.dydepune.com and www.punenet.net


For students not part of Std XI CAP:
Students, who did not apply for admission through the CAP for various reasons, can still seek admission at individual college level at the end of the ATKT admission process. The CAP committee will release a college-wise, stream-wise and medium-wise vacancy position at 11 am on August 8 for the non-CAP students to enable them approach the concerned college for admission between August 8 and 11. Admissions will be strictly against vacancy.
