Sikkim Manipal University (SMU) is the first government-private initiative in the north east region. SMU is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and approved by the Government of India. The SMU offers education in a number of disciplines, such as:

- Students can download the form from the official website – www.sikkimuniversity.ac.in. The exam fee for general candidates is Rs. 300 (each subject) and for ST/ SC/ OBC/Differently Abled (DA) is Rs. 150. The demand draft should be drawn in favour of Sikkim University payable at Gangtok.
- Students can avail the prospectus cum application form from the college campus (management block) anytime between 9:30 am – 5:30 pm till April 25, 2012 against a cash payment of Rs. 250 or obtain it by post by paying a demand draft (DD) of Rs. 275 in favour of Sikkim University.
