Kerala Board of Public Examinations (KBPE) functions under the guidance of the state Department of Education and holds the key responsibilities to make the education system more efficient and promote education in the state, Kerala. Established in the year 1949, the board enjoys the authority to conduct two major examinations in the state viz. Secondary School Leaving Certificate Examination (SSLC) and Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HCLC) examination.
